SENIOR SECTION MAY RESULTS

The Senior Section have played rounds 5 & 6 of the George Houghton Trophy played in conjunction with both rounds of the Paddy Doyle Salver. Glenn Price won round 5 with 40 points and David Wells took first spot in Round 6 with 38. Click for GH 5 & P Doyle 1  Click for GH 6 & P Doyle 2

The George Houghton Trophy  was played over 6 rounds with the best 4 to count for each player. The overall winner was Adrian Green with 36 points, Tom Eadon 2nd with 32 and Jorge Schmidt 3rd with 31 points. The Walter Griffin Eclectic, base on the scores from the George Houghton was won by Bob Luke on 51  points followed by Tom Eadon with 50 and Jorge Schmidt third on countback.

The Paddy Doyle Salver was very close with all 3 leaders on 15 points from 2 rounds with countback deciding the places. The winner was Peter Rayers, second was Tom Eadon with Adrian Green in third place

Also played recently was the Frank Williams Trophy won by John Squires with a net 67 2 shots clear of runner up Tom Eadon net 69 Click for Score Sheet  Dave Moss won the June 16th Stableford and Tony Houghton won the 9 Hole stableford.  scores here

The senior team completed a fine double against Norwood Park. Melton’s winners were: Denis Dayman and Brendan Boyce  3 &1, Bob Lemon and Gerry Stephens 3 &2, John Squires and Dick Chapman 2 up
Steve Middleton and Tom Eadon 2 &1, Eddie Cham and Jim McQuillan 4 &3, Dave Wells and Dave Moss halved. The team also had an emphatic double against Rutland County. Melton’s winners were; Haydn Snow and Frank Williams 3 and 2 with Williams finishing off the opposition with a fine birdie on the 16th, Richard Haines and Bob Purkis 4 and 3, Bob Luke and Julian Kisiel 4 and 3, Adrian Green and Denis Dayman 6 and 5, John Squires and Dick Chapman 4 and 3, Gerry Stephens and Pat Lee 3 and 1 and Dave Moss and Alan Terzza 1 up.
