The recent wet weather has caused three matches for the seniors (two home and one away) to be cancelled.
However, with improving conditions, the seniors took on The Nottinghamshire at home on Tuesday 17th April. On a drying course and in a keen breeze, which made some holes play much longer, Melton came out on top winning 5.5 points to 2.5. This makes it two wins out of two starts this season – a perfect record so far.
Winning pairs were: Captain Jerzy Schmidt and Pete Rayers (4 and 3), John Webb and Bob Purkis (2up), Julian Kisiel and Jim McQuillan (6 and 5), Haydn Snow and Denis Dayman (2 and 1), vice captain Dick Chapman and Bob Luke (5 and 4) with John Squires and Al Terzza obtaining a very creditable half.
Congratulations to all players on a solid start to the season.
