On a glorious sunny day with little breeze, 25 players took part in the Seniors’ Silver Plate Competition. This is a singles Stableford competition and the runaway winner was Robin Jones with a fine 44 points, 7 clear of the chasing pack. There was a 3 way tie for the minor placings with Julian Kisiel taking second on count back with 37 points followed in 3rd place by Richard Grieve and 4th John Squires all scoring 37 points.
The Seniors have had a hectic series of team matches.
Last Wednesday, they entertained Lingdale in the Leics. G.U. Senior’s Knockout and an excellent all round performance saw them gain an emphatic 5- 0 win to progress into the next round to face either Lutterworth or Kibworth away.
Friendly results were less successful with away defeats at Mapperley ( 4.5 to 1.5) and Radcliffe ( 5 to 2)
