The Jack Wildman Salver is an annual competition played in a greensomes format between mixed pairs of ladies and seniors.
The Ladies Captain and the Seniors Captain always make up one pair and the remainder were drawn out of a hat. Handicaps are based on 0.6 of lowest in the pair and 0.4 of the highest, with the combined total making up the handicap for the pair.
Conditions were mild for the day and the course was in excellent condition, but the greens were still recovering from the summer maintenance. This didn’t detract from some excellent scores.
The competition was won with an outstanding score of 61 by Jim McQuillan and Gill Hoggan, 6 shots ahead of the second place. There was only two points between second and seventh place, with the two Captains (Neil Farish and Jackie Fisher) taking second spot on 67 and three pairs scoring 68 of which Richard Haines and Jackie Watts took third place on countback after intensive investigation.
A really good day had by all and we are looking forward to our next competition between the Ladies and the Seniors on Sunday 19 October 2025 – 1 Lady 2 Gents.
