Rob Smith won the Race to Woodhall Spa Order of Merit when he came third in the final Race to Woodhall Spa competition on Saturday. Winning the Order of Merit gives Rob an automatic place in the Final which will take place at Woodhall Spa on Saturday 17th October.
The next top 30 players will play in the RWS Play Off competition on Saturday 3rd October for the chance to be in the final 5 and join Rob at Woodhall. Last year’s RWS Trophy winner Matt Catton sits in 6th position and determined to win through to the finals to defend his title.

The Saturday stableford competition was played with the course in tip top condition. Brian Cole won the with 42 points 2 clear of Bill Hurrell’s 40 points giving him 2nd place on count back from Rob Smith third. Rob Smith began a winning streak on the 11th September when he won the mid-week medal with a net 68 and also shot the lowest gross on the day carding a 72. In second place was John Burgess net 69 and Steve Goddard was third net 70. Only 2 two’s were scored by Chris Boulter and Steve Goddard. Scoresheet
