Sunday 20th May saw MMGC play host to the Leicestershire & Rutland Golf Union Under 18’s team for a double header: Midlands Golf Union League Match against Cambridgeshire and a very strong Nottinghamshire.
The format of the match was three-way foursomes in the morning followed by singles in the afternoon.
Things were tight at lunch time with the Leicestershire and Rutland County boys one point behind Cambridgeshire and all square with Nottinghamshire.
However, things did not go so well during the afternoon, when they halved the singles with Cambridgeshire and lost heavily to Nottinghamshire. The final results on the day were losses to Cambridgeshire 8-7 and Nottinghamshire 10-5. At the same time Cambridgeshire lost 12-3 to Nottinghamshire.
The course and catering were very well received by all teams who were hosted by Past County President, Tom Finn and we could not have asked for better weather.
