Centenary Dinner at the Tower of London

On Friday 30th May, 40 members of the club were privileged to attend a dinner in the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers’ museum at the Tower of London. Several took advantage of the offer of entering the Tower for the afternoon before returning for the dinner. The new poppy installation on display for VE day could be admired – and it will be there until 11th November. A superb three course meal with unlimited wines was enjoyed by all, before a short briefing by the Yeoman Warder to prepare for the Ceremony of the Keys. This spectacle has been taking place without a break for the past 800 years and involved locking up the Tower by 10pm. Many thanks go to Lady Captain Jackie Fisher and James Denny for their part in organising this special evening.
