Melton Seniors played host to Sleaford on Tuesday 13th May 2025 hoping to continue their strong
start to the season on a really well-maintained course in great weather conditions.
Melton started well with Neil Farish and Bob Purkis winning the first game 1 up, followed by a half by
Richard Grieve and Jim McQuillan. At the half way point Melton found themselves 2 ½ – 1 ½ down
after two straight losses, but bounced back with wins from Mick Cavani and Charlie Chapman (4 and
3) and Jerzy Schmidt and Pete Rayers (2 and 1) before losing the 7th game leaving a tense final game
to decide the match.
The final result was a 4 ½ – 3 ½ win after Julian Kisiel and Joe Carrington brought the spoils home
with a 4 and 2 win.
Well done to all who participated and a really enjoyable day had by all.
