Thankfully, the heat had subsided and it was ideal golfing weather when the Mixed team hosted Radcliffe on Trent Golf Club. This was another new fixture for the team, and the game was played in a great spirit. The Radcliffe players also commented on the excellent condition of the course.
The fixture was played as a Four Ball Better Ball with 8 teams in total. It was a very close match and the scores were level after 7 completed games with wins for Steve and Karen Middleton, James and Nancy Denny and Brian Cole alongside Penny Dodds. Clive and Jackie Watts also secured a valuable half. So, it all came down to the final match, and a win was secured for Melton on the 17th hole by Keith Forrester and Denise Waldron.
