Captains’ Day Saturday 20th June

Club Captain Ade Cairns and Lady Captain Alison Savage

Firstly, a massive thanks to all who supported the Competition during the day and those who attended the night time Par-Tee making both a real success.

Special thanks also go to all the helpers on the day giving up their time to support the Captains’ Day, members, other halves and mums (including Mrs Cairns). A special thanks to Tony for hosting our surprise event on the 14th and Oscar for assisting with the ‘Beat the Pro’ Challenge.

The evening turned into a terrific event with about 80 attending making it a fun packed night with lovely food, a very good band and a great party atmosphere. Thanks to all who supported this. Enjoy your raffle prizes folks, I know John Harvey will…

You will be pleased to know, we raised £1,381 for our Charities on the day and night. This came from a part of the Competition Fee, Par-Tee ticket sales, raffle income and golfer donations on the day. The reason for a charge on Captains’ Day was reflected in the quality of the competition and raffle prizes – so many thanks to you all for entering.

Now to the Competition of the Day: 139 of you took part, 120 Gents (wow!), 17 Ladies 18 Hole and 2 Ladies 9 Hole Comp. Although the day was quite hot and humid, there were welcome refreshements provided at the Halfway House and the ladies enjoyed tea and scones back in the clubhouse.
