12 ladies have just completed their 8 weeks of MMGC Beginners Golf sessions. They have met every Tuesday evening for coaching with the clubs affiliated MindFit golf professional, Tony Westwood supported by Jackie Fisher MMGC Women in Golf Charter Champion. Each week they learnt and practised new skills followed by a drink and chat in the clubhouse.
On 19th May they played a 6 hole Greensome with ladies who had completed the course in previous years. Despite looking threatening all day, the rain stayed off and all had a very enjoyable evening with wine and nibbles after. The winning team was that of Steph Wakelin, Carol Soloway and Stacy Underwood.
The group now have the opportunity to take up Stage 2 – Towards Handicap. This gives them time over the summer to get out on the course and submit cards for a handicap.
